The AVGLaw immigration team deals with all matters relating to immigration law, citizenship applications (both through the economic citizenship program and the conventional route), applications for immigration permits, permanent residence permits, employment permits and visas. The department advises both individual and corporate clients.
Our main focus is to provide services to non-EU citizens that wish to acquire a Greek (and EU Schengen) residence permit after they decide to invest in Greece. In this light, they have three options:
a) Residency permit for property owners (Golden Visa Programme): Non-EU citizens may take advantage of the newly adopted Law 4251/2014 and the Ministerial Decision 30825/2014. According to that law, they may apply for residency permit if they buy property in Greece with a minimum value of 250.000 euro. The residency permit is permanent and it may be renewed every five (5) years for as long as the property remains in the possession of the initial owner. The residence permit may be extended to the members of the family of the owner (spouse, parents and children up to 21 years ols), so that they can all benefit from the advantage of residing freely in Greece. The family residence permit may be renewed and / or expires together with the sponsor’s residence permit. The residence permit ensures the right to re-enter Greece, providing the holder with a right to free movement within the Schengen area for a period of 90 days during any half-year. Finally, the residence permit may lead to the application for a long-term RP or for citizenship.
b) Residency permit for business investment: Non-EU citizens that wish to invest in Greece over 250.000 euro can apply for residency permit for five (5) years. This permit may be prolonged for as long as the investment continues to exist and operate. The permit is also valid for the members of the family of the investor. Depending on the amount of investment, up to 10 families per investment can benefit from the law. The residence permit ensures the right to re-enter Greece, providing the holder with a right to free movement within the Schengen area for a period of 90 days during any half-year.
c) Residency permit for “Strategic Investments”: Non-EU citizens that wish to apply for a “Strategic Investment” in accordance to Law 3894/2010, can apply for a residency permit for ten (10) years. This permit may be renewed every 10 years and prolonged for as long as the activity continues to exist. The permit is valid for 10 investors together with their families. The residence permit ensures the right to re-enter Greece, providing the holder with a right to free movement within the Schengen area for a period of 90 days during any half-year.
Other areas of our work include citizenship applications, long-term residence permits and visas.
Since traditional areas of national policy and Greek law in this area are increasingly influenced and directed by developments in EU and international law, we ensure that we stay close to the government and EU institutional bodies and observe deeply any reform made in this field.
AVGLaw is the Number 1 Greek law firm in this field. It has extensive experience and has successgully helped many families (especially from China, Russia, Egypt and UAE) to obtain their RP. For more information, you may contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
